If you're using Linux (especially with Gnome), I can highly recommend Pods[1] as a desktop client for Podman. It's much less cluttered than Podman Desktop, but still supports most of its features.

Pods is a GTK4 frontend for Podman. I installed it from Arch AUR. But I think it also available as a Flatpak.

There is Symphony to manage Podman, but I imagine with some tinkering it can be made to work with Docker.

I think Black Box has some customization features worth trying. Looks a lot like gnome console too

Gnome Terminal gets stuck when it's unable to find a command, instead of returning 'Command not Found'
Not that I wouldn't want to get to the bottom of why it's not working right, but I think the first thing I would do is install another terminal (e.g. Blackbox from Flathub), and see if it does the same thing. That should at least help you narrow down if this is an issue with gnome-terminal or something else...

Dear Silverblue, I don't hate you but it's better that we bid farewell to each other...
That is pretty uncommon (Hell, dare I say, impossible). You should report this up, because I'm looking right now at the build file for BlackBox (on Flathub) and it uses the GNOME runtime 42, which does contains GTK4.
