plugins VS flutter-webrtc

(This new version will be endorsed by google_sign_in: ^6.0.0, once this PR lands: https://github.com/flutter/plugins/pull/7191, probably next week. This was made a major version change so people can test and update at their own pace.)

Looking at the web version of the video player package which doesn't use textures but VideoElement DOM nodes, I'd guess that textures aren't supported.

It's not 100% true that Flutter doesn't offer any first party native features. These plugins are maintained by the Flutter team: https://github.com/flutter/plugins/tree/main/packages

Here's an example: https://github.com/flutter/plugins. As you can see, that repo has no "issues" tab. And it mentions that issues should be created on the Flutter repo itself

The plugins is missing Issues tab currently. It's hard for developers who need to raise or find issues on packages.

I only had a brief glance, but I believe that this is your best shot at the moment. Kudos to Weiwei Duan ( https://github.com/cloudwebrtc ) for his hard work. He contributed this code, which I found when looking at his filed issue: https://github.com/flutter-webrtc/flutter-webrtc/issues/799

To be honest I don't know exactly how it works. I use the flutter-webrtc library for the data transfer. Should note that u/imdeadinsidelol managed to do cross platform local networks in the Arc app. I would love to understand how he accomplished that!

You’re looking for webRTC, FTP is just File Transfer Protocol. You are going to have to setup a TURN server for your webRTC app if this is going further then your LAN and a learning project. I work on https://github.com/pion/webrtc and have been meaning to try out flutter. Using https://github.com/flutter-webrtc/flutter-webrtc I was able to pull something together that works on Android, iOS and native. Best of all is that I wrote/prototyped in the web. My hope is that between this and Pion we can make WebRTC may more accessible.

If you are familiar with WebRTC these are some of the features that excited me.

* Trickle ICE

* Re-negotiation

* Multiple inbound/outbound tracks per PeerConnection

* No codec restriction per call. You can have H264 and VP8 in the same conference.
