Does PowerSaves work on ds cartridges?
In my experience, the best way to cheat in Pokemon is using save editors rather than codes. For hacked 3DS, PKSM is the way to go. For hacked DSi, Pokemon Chest. Both are about the same thing: a combination of Pokemon Bank without needing to connect to the internet, moving pokes between generations, and a savegame editor that can create and edit Pokemon as well as some other stuff in your save. PKSM is the better app since it supports generations 1-7 on 3DS, but Chest runs on a DSi and handles generations 3-5.

if I homebrewed my dsi and played pokemon red on GBA, can i then trade my pokemon to pokemon ruby/sapphire. if so, how can I do that.
Just use pkmnchest to make a copy of the pokémon you’d want to transfer

hacks for twilight menu nds games?
you can use pkmnchest to edit pokemon to make them shiny
-
Doing some funky stuff
I would use this so you can do it all from your DSi.

How does DSI hacking work?
The only specific homebrew application I can think of that I use is pkmnchest for modifying/adding pokemon/items in pokémon games.
-

Use Twilightmenu for NDS https://github.com/DS-Homebrew/TWiLightMenu/releases

Pirated Shops
Hshop is basically the only one and has all 3DS games. If you're looking for NDS games you need twilightmenu with roms from somewhere like vimm's

ROMs on 3ds??
DS games can be loaded on a 3DS via a program called TWiLightMenu. If you need help with installing and using it, make sure to read the available documentation. If after that you still need help, ask in more related subreddits, i.e. r/3dshomebrew or similar.

AMCS (b23062023dt) now available to try from our official website.
If you're running AMCS on the DS with an R4 card, autoload the TwilightMenu++ with NDS-Bootstrap, as the official R4 firmware doesn't cleanly launch homebrew. - TwilightMenu++

Explorers of time/dark/sky
If you've got a 3DS / DSi, there's also the option of using homebrew to play DS roms on it...then you're essentially playing PMD on native hardware! Look into TwiLight Menu++ (3DS will require loading custom firmware such as Luma3DS) if you're interested.

Help for GBA games?
Find the game as a rom, put it into your roms folder on your SD card, (should be /ROMS/GBA), install TwilightMenu++, an application for the DS&DSLite (via the r4 flashcart) or the DSi/3DS (via CFW). When opened, it looks and functions like the DSi menu. It allows you to access and play Roms via a prettier interface.

DSi CFW Megathread
TwilightMenu++ is an application for the DS&DSLite (via the r4 flashcart) or the DSi/3DS (via CFW). When opened, it looks and functions like the DSi menu. It allows you to access and play Roms via a prettier interface. This should let you run NDS, NES, and SNES games without any additional plugins.

Creating the Ultimate Pokémon Machine, and more! (v2.0)
Alternatively, you can use TwilightMenu++, which is an application for the DS&DSLite (via the r4 flashcart) or the DSi/3DS (via CFW). When opened, it looks and functions like the DSi menu. It allows you to access and play Roms via a prettier interface. However, I don’t like using it on the 3DS. If yours is broken, try downloading it again from the Universal Updater app or try this.
