Semantic Zoom
I don't know the one you mention, but I believe https://github.com/SmilyOrg/photofield does something similar.

Anything you wish there was an open source solution for?
It won't cover you uses right now probably, but I'd be interested in how my photofield app fares on the 2tb dataset too. You can mount your photos as a read only volume, so it's low risk to try it out. I'm planning to add some of the features you mentioned eventually, but feel free to open feature requests if you are interested!

Photofield v0.5 released: Google Photos alternative now even faster and with 100% more demo
Added issue #34 for RAW file support. Do you happen to have some .CR2 samples you could share with me? I don't often shoot in RAW, so I'm interested in how you would expect it to work, is this something that is usually configurable as I presume RAWs can be processed in many ways? Or is it enough to have a "good enough" default just so that you know what file it is?
For what it's worth, I added issue #23 in the repo on this, so subscribe there if you're interested. 😊
Hey, sorry, it got a little buried among others, but I got them, thanks! Opened issue #30 for it.
Since then I've slowly refactored parts of it to make it even faster and easier to work with: added support for embedded jpeg thumbnails, made it load faster than Google Photos, added support for collections of millions of photos+, and replaced OpenSeadragon with OpenLayers to make it work with slow browsers (e.g. on Smart TVs), among others.
Thanks and good idea! Added it as issue #31.
Yeah that's definitely rough on mobile. On PC you can use left/right arrow keys. Added it as part of issue #26, thanks!

Smart Home and Homelab network diagram after 4 years of evolution
On unraid postgres is used by szurubooru, mealie, and grafana. I don't know specifically what but I know redis is also used by one of the apps in the cloud group as well.

Can't access Docker site (szurubooru) in LAN, only on the same machine
I am very new to self-hosting and Docker too, and English is my second language, so I apologise for any mistakes in any of these fields, they may be obvious to you but I will have missed them easily. I wanted to make myself a local site which can be accessed via LAN only (no internet exposure necessary, which is actually impossible without things like ngrok anyway, due to how my ISP has things set up), which can automatically update for any added images and is tag-searchable. Booru-style sites seemed the best for my needs, and I chose szurubooru after seeing it recommended around this sub.
name: mybooruname #yes this next line is empty as i mention above, but the [INSTALL.md](https://github.com/rr-/szurubooru/blob/master/doc/INSTALL.md) says you can skip lines of which you want to use the defaults. or should i add something here? domain: secret: mysecretstring delete_source_files: no thumbnails: avatar_width: 300 avatar_height: 300 post_width: 300 post_height: 300 user_agent: max_dl_filesize: 25.0E+6 convert: gif: to_webm: false to_mp4: false allow_broken_uploads: false smtp: host: localhost port: 25 user: myusername pass: thisisapass from: noreply@localhost enable_safety: yes # the rest is just regexes for tags, pools, usernames, and passwords, and user rank privilege stuff

Photofield v0.5 released: Google Photos alternative now even faster and with 100% more demo
Honestly, your project makes me want to contribute to I but I have absolutely no experience with Golang. I see a lot of potential in it and because it's comparatively new and barebones, there aren't any entrenched concepts like with more mature projects. Like, if you ever get around to implementing a more comprehensive organization system, do check out Szurubooru. Tags and tag categories can replace Albums, Faces, Places, Objects, Themes, Colors, EXIF data and so much more. You can still use tooling like AI recognition, geotagging, EXIF readers, and whatnot to populate them accordingly but being standardized as TAGS makes searching and crawling much easier. Not to mention defining custom tags would allow for a very versatile usage. And with a fluid browsing like yours, it will be a dream app.
