Awesome-Privacy: List of 500 FOSS alternatives to escape big tech
Just a different take on the same topic. This project branched off of personal-security-checklist, the software section was moved to a separate repo last week in order to be more community driven.

Awesome Privacy - A curated list of privacy-respecting & FOSS software. PRs welcome!
Yeah, it's a common topic :) This list originated from personal-security-checklist, but I am hoping that separating the two can make it more user-driven, and hence more impartial 🤞

Heads up! I'm sure many are aware of this info but important to know if you are getting into the community
Only trust sites like https://privacyguides.org and https://techlore.tech for all your privacy guides and tools etc

Can someone help me understand what is OSINT good for, and also a list of curated resources to get into it?

A camera cover I see? If you care about privacy and avoiding surveillance, there's loads more you can do, considering your internet activity is far more valuable then anything captured by your webcam. Start your privacy journey off at https://techlore.tech (I know this sounds like an ad, I'm just really passionate about digital privacy and like these guys)

Video killed the radio star. What did the internet kill?
Techlore is a great place to start, I have yet to find a more reliable source. As the VPN meme shows, it's often about marketing your own product.

Privacy advice for a beginner
I think everyone else has already answered your browser-specific questions quite well, so I just want to address your final part about "more beginner-friendly advice." For that I recommend Techlore (https://techlore.tech) and my own site The New Oil (https://thenewoil.org). Both are designed to be beginner friendly. Techore focuses more on video content while I focus more on text content, so it's really just how you prefer to take in content.
