Setup an ArchLinux package caching proxy on Raspberry Pi 4
So I built my own tool pacman-backup that allows exporting the cache to a usb drive, and to emulate a simple pacman server that you can run inside the local network.

Finally set up a proper shared local pacman cache, pacoloco in an nspawn container
Well there was https://github.com/RubenKelevra/pacman.store running via ipfs, but currently it is broken due to a bug in ipfs.

Can package upgrades be made like torrents? Like peer to peer?
There is an IPFS Archlinux package mirror (https://github.com/RubenKelevra/pacman.store)
-
I don't want to be toxic, but...
If you run arch linux you could do updates through ipfs (link), and help the network that way. Linux mint has a working ipfs mirror too i think. Dont know of any others.

The feasibility of using IPFS to replace linux software sources (http and ftp)!
Definitely doable but most repos are huge, so not many people who even can start one. I only know of the arch linux mirror: https://github.com/RubenKelevra/pacman.store#pacmanstore
