So there are fortunately a million ways to go about doing this type of thing. My recommendation would be to follow an online tutorial for something like Django, Angular, or Ruby on Rails. The first two are good to start with because they both are in two of the most popular languages out there, and have a large number of guides in short tutorials, Youtube videos and even books to help you get started simple and then expand to cooler new things over time.
