Having a look at your xmemorycopy_until, do you require that memory passed in be aligned to 32 bytes? I don't believe that's an assumption that the C runtime makes.

Is Asio the best library for networking in C++?
I tried wrapping all of that with some flexibility into a small library pet project. But for real-world applications I would recommend going for ASIO.
