Aren't there quite a few of these? Scratch or its cousin Snap (https://snap.berkeley.edu/snap/snap.html), or even a visual flow editor for React (https://app.flowhub.io/#project/c111454c9fd2f74d37d1e8a4e739...) or the similar https://retejs.org/

Time is a flat circle. I'm sure this has been attempted countless times before, but it never seems to stick around.

Visual programming tool for flow-based / dataflow programming. Allows live programming by modifying graphs, retroactive debugging, etc.

Doing this all as a web app that connects to actual runtime environments via WebSockets or WebRTC.

I've used pgmem https://github.com/oguimbal/pg-mem for the last couple of years for the same thing.

I was wondering the other day how to classify tests that use a test double like pg-mem, which isn't a mock but isn't the Dockerized test DB either :

So I'm not an expert, but for simplistic use cases I merely make use of https://github.com/oguimbal/pg-mem

It's a lot faster and easier than dealing with containers and the like.

In my case, I use TypeORM with PostgreSQL, and there's pg-mem to run an instance in memory, it supports most of the common functionality of PostgreSQL but you will need to do some adjustment to your code to be within the limits.
