nextra VS Jekyll

we put in a lot of effort into our docs and we'd greatly appreciate any criticism or feedback! Langfuse is powerful but the docs should help beginners to quickly get started and then incrementally use more features.

However, this may just be due to the lack of proper documentation from the Nextra side of things (shoutout to Nextra though, regardless).

Nextra - Nextra is another option for creating documentation sites. While it might not be as well-known as Docusaurus, Nextra offers a modern and minimalist approach to building documentation. I have looked at https://nextra.site/ but that doesn't work with the app router yet. So I'm wondering if there's another alternative.

You could also have a look at Nextra. You can use mdx components to build your blog (including support for server-side fetching). I'm currently using their documentation template, but it seems they also have a blog template.

We write everything in Markdown, as it's the closest you'll get to a 'universal' format. Then, we use a static site generator to turn the docs into a website. Current projects are using Nextra for this. If you ever need to change site generators, you still have all the markdown docs and image files, so it's pretty easy to change.

Today I found this tool for Next.js called Nextra. You can effortlessly create a blog post website or a documentation website. All you need is markdown. Simply export your markdown from Notion and utilize it with Nextra to enjoy all the cool features, including full-text search, syntax highlighting, dark/light mode, and even image support. Everything is generated at build time, making it a static website which is Blazingly fast. https://nextra.site/

This blog is running on Hugo. It had previously been running on Jekyll. Both these SSGs ship with the ability to create excerpts from your markdown content in 1 line or thereabouts.

Jekyll

In future, if you want to move from Jekyll to something else, you just have to worry about that `_posts` and `_assets` folder. They may have different naming convention but you can just config-managed it or change it to your choice. This is why I suggested owning that two yourself.

You also may not worry about FrontMatter[3] (meta in the header) and its accompanying jazz by asking Jekyll to use the plugins `jekyll-optional-front-matter` and `jekyll-titles-from-headings`. These comes as part of the officially supported Jekyll plugins[4] by Github. That way, you are just writing a human-readable plain-text spiced up with Markdown and readable by almost every other Static Site Generator.

Now, play with the `_config.yml` that Jekyll generates for you from the theme above to define your post dates, navigation, and others. Jekyll is one of the OGs — the Gandalf of Static Site Generators. If you have a problem, someone somewhere has solved that.

The site is super-light, super-fast, super-secure and SEO-friendly. Of course, it’s not always the best solution, but for some use cases, like a simple personal blog, it’s really a good option.

Yes, it's Markdown and I use https://jekyllrb.com with the theme "jekyll-theme-hacker" to generate the site. I quite like how simple it is.
