If you can’t find time to getting Pi-hole going, check out NextDNS, which is only $1.99 a month and very configurable (if you want. It also has sensible defaults.)
Anyone setup NextDNS

CLI installer: Unable to locate package nextdns
On which platform are you trying to install the NextDNS CLI? Is it listed here: https://github.com/nextdns/nextdns/wiki ?
So it seems to be a bug, it has just been reported on GitHub: https://github.com/nextdns/nextdns/issues/615
Sorry, I’m not familiar with Raspbian so I can’t help you with that. Have you tried the manual approach as outlined here: https://github.com/nextdns/nextdns/wiki/Debian-Based-Distribution Otherwise visit the NextDNS community, search for your issue and if you can’t find it, open a new issue: https://help.nextdns.io/category/community Unfortunately the developers are not the most responsive ones, but I hope there are community members who can guide you, as the product is definitely worth it.

I found an app that lets you mute ads in games!

This is a solution but why not remove the ADs altogether? Blokada works pretty well and filters out the entire AD.
Help me understand please!

This app is literally just a rip-off of Blokada (literally same UI) probably with a bunch of trackers and less functionality because it's on the playstore.

What is your phone setup like?
2 projects | reddit.com/r/digitalminimalism | 20 Nov 2021
More important than the setup, however, is how the phone is otherwise set up. If I were you, I would set it to monochrome. Mine has an e-ink display and can't display colors anyway. Add a firewall (afwall) and an ad blocker (blokada), turn off all notifications, and kick Facebook, Reddit, Tiktok, Instagram, and YouTube (as an alternative use newpipe) off the phone, as well as any other toxic pseudo-social networks.

You can always use Blokada on iOS and Android. It blocks ads system wide. Just make sure you have it set to always run in the background and navigate to Ad blocking > Host Log to block any individual domains that your selected Host Lists failed to pick up whenever an ad does seep through (usually from a new source). For example, these are usually the domains that get blocked everytime I play a Youtube video:

Use Blokada and you'll be safe. Or at least, safer.
