Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Docker Networking: A Step-by-Step Guide for Developers
Now, let's use netshoot, a Docker image equipped with a set of networking troubleshooting tools that can be used for Docker networking.
- Has the image netshoot the Alpine/musl DNS issues?
-
What's your favourite Docker Image, and why?
nicolaka/netshoot for sure. having a preloaded array of networking troubleshooting tools in an image for kubernetes debugging is a godsend.
- k8s docker image with basic troubleshooting tools
-
Networking lab for learning using containers?
First off, it seems like getting tcpdump or Wireshark to capture from the container network and dumping to a file will take some extra steps. (A lot of blog posts seem to recommend this Github project - https://github.com/nicolaka/netshoot)
- qBittorrent "Error" after putting the container through a Gluetun container
-
New to ubuntu and stumped by my cloudflare tunnels suddenly no longer working...
Some hints how to debug such problems in the future: 1. ufw drops/rejections are logged (use dmesg to view them) 2. wireshark shows all connection attempts, even those that are blocked by firewall 3. ss or netstat shows if the server is actually listening for connections 4. netshoot allows to enter docker container network namespace and do pings, curl or telnet from there

If You're Using Helm, Why Not Give It a Pretty UI As Well?
Helm Dashboard is an open-source project by Komodor that offers a visual and user-friendly way to manage and visualize all the Helm charts installed in your clusters. Instead of using the terminal, you can leverage the Helm Dashboard's intuitive UI to perform a variety of tasks that make working with Helm a breeze. Here are some of its key features:
-
What are you favorite dashboard tools? Stack and usecases inside.
https://github.com/komodorio/helm-dashboard seems interesting, but a bit overkill for the dev/PM usecases compared to the DevOps folks using it.

Data driven decisions in OSS [helm-dashboard]
Helm dashboard (https://github.com/komodorio/helm-dashboard/) is my first big open-source project, and during the last couple of months, we at Komodor have consistently been working on improving it (We released a GA and got 3K stars in a couple of months), but we were scratching our heads with the future roadmap!

Show HN: Data driven decisions in OSS [helm-dashboard]
Helm dashboard (https://github.com/komodorio/helm-dashboard) is my first big open-source project, and during the last couple of months, we at Komodor have consistently been working on improving it (We released a GA and got 3K stars in a couple of months), but we were scratching our heads with the future roadmap!
The tricky part of OSS is that it's hard to know what should be developed next; we tried a couple of methods to make this work:
-
Open Source monitoring k8s
Helm Dashboard
-
Helm-Dashboard is generally available with the release of V.1.0.0
As always, we welcome everyone to provide feedback and suggestions on the project’s roadmap on our social channels, GitHub, or the Slack Kommunity. We’ve even created a user survey form to make it easier on you 🙂

Is there any alternative to Lens desktop software?
Regardless, if you're also using (suffering) from Helm, we have a cool open source GUI to help with that: https://github.com/komodorio/helm-dashboard
-
Helm-Dashboard now enables cluster installation
Check it out on GitHub: https://github.com/komodorio/helm-dashboard
What are some alternatives?
Dokku - A docker-powered PaaS that helps you build and manage the lifecycle of applications
aptakube - Modern, lightweight and multi-cluster Kubernetes GUI. Available on Windows, macOS and Linux.
ksniff - Kubectl plugin to ease sniffing on kubernetes pods using tcpdump and wireshark
k8s-pod-restart-info-collector - Automated troubleshooting of Kubernetes Pods issues. Collect K8s pod restart reasons, logs, and events automatically.
containers-roadmap - This is the public roadmap for AWS container services (ECS, ECR, Fargate, and EKS).
OpenLens - OpenLens Binary Build Repository
container_builder - This project builds containers images using Ansible. The containers are defined as hosts in the Ansible inventory. They are generated using host and group variables, templates and local connection.
devtron - Tool integration platform for Kubernetes
geodesic - 🚀 Geodesic is a DevOps Linux Toolbox in Docker
kdash - A simple and fast dashboard for Kubernetes
Filestash - 🦄 A modern web client for SFTP, S3, FTP, WebDAV, Git, Minio, LDAP, CalDAV, CardDAV, Mysql, Backblaze, ...
octant - Highly extensible platform for developers to better understand the complexity of Kubernetes clusters.
