It's frontend uses a JS framework though [1], and transpiles it to the static directory. It's HTMX though, which is refreshing to see.

IT wise, It's been a fair few years since I've been in a department that does asset management, we used to use GLPI with it's warts and all, which got replace with https://github.com/netbox-community/netbox

Here are a few things you can take a look at that might help you reach your goal: - You can explore the netbox.dev plugins page to see if any existing plugins exist that solve your issue - You could also check if the idea is already proposed, or submit your own plugin idea here. - Another useful place to check is the NetBox Discussions Board on GitHub - Along with the NetDev Slack which has maintainers and community members active all the time. - Lastly, if you feel like this should be a core feature and have already submitted an idea to the discussions board, feel free to create a feature request (FR) to the NetBox Issues Board. We suggest creating a discussion first and seeing if there is maintainer/community acceptance before submitting a FR.

Thats what I'mk looking into at the moment. There seems to be a great integration with netbox and nautobot. Both seem like an excellent fit for an IPAM + DHCP solution.

It looks like I'm not the only person who has faced this. apache-based images require buster, for instance, and some docker images that rely on Ruby face issues too (for example, I decided to try setting up Postal but it looks like it's facing the same issues).

The rest of our signage uses Xibo (on Android players), which no longer explicitly supports the rPI, but you might be able to get one of their dists to run. They offer perpetual licenses, though make sure what they have on offer will work for you.

/u/slugshead mentioned Xibo. They've discontinued Pi-compatible versions but run on a lot of other things. Player(client) licenses per major version are perpetual, or at least very long. I've seen some weird issues with them, don't know if it's fixed (mostly has to do with display scaling, probably related to the consumer-grade smart TVs I have to run it on).
