Does PowerSaves work on ds cartridges?
DS Phat or Lite with a DS flashcart (or Action Replay DSi that takes a MicroSD though you also need ARDSI Menu to handle DLDI auto patching or track down the appropriate DLDI patch and patch the nds file for NDS Savegame Manager yourself), wifi your DS can connect to, an FTP server with write access accessible through that wifi, and NDS Savegame Manager. Does NOT work on DSi or 3DS since they turn off the cartridge slot if you're booted into a flashcart and then eject it. Use above CFW methods for those consoles. The FTP server can be any PC FTP server program, or a phone file manager app like Solid Explorer that includes a builtin FTP server function. The wifi can be a phone hotspot with no password. Copy the nds and ini files to the root of your flashcart's SD card, and edit the ini to have the correct IP, port, username and password for the FTP server. If the FTP server has anonymous (no password) access, put anonymous for the user and anything that looks like an email for the password ([email protected] for instance). There is also a pdf with some additional help that comes with NDS Savegame Manager. This method sucks because of complexity of setup, but at least a lot of people already have R4 cards. Avoid it if you can.

DS Lite to R4
Try this: https://github.com/AdmiralCurtiss/nds-savegame-manager

how do you put a new Save file onto a ds cart.
This is the tool, though you'll need a DS flashcart to run it from. I know you'll need either a slot 2 device or wifi and any FTP server program to backup saves. I'm not sure whether it can restore them without this from the flashcart's SD though.

Does anyone still have they’re original save from whatever game?
For DS (Requires flash cart)For DSi (requires Modding)For 3DS (Requires Modding)

Some questions about transferring Pokemon save files to emulator and pokemon that can be sent to Pokemon Home
on DS you have this tool available, but I haven't personally used it so can't say much about it beyond that I've seen it recommended multiple times and it seems to work for people: https://github.com/AdmiralCurtiss/nds-savegame-manager

Is there a way to get DS save data from a retail cartridge onto a computer without homebrewing a 3DS?
You can use a flashcart and homebrew. Here is an example: https://github.com/AdmiralCurtiss/nds-savegame-manager

Dying DS Cart. I need some good blank ones I can transfer to.
You need to purchase an R4 flashcard and then put thisNDS Savegame Manager on it. Then you can dump your retail save to the SD card in the R4. Then make backups of your save in the cloud or wherever you prefer.

Is It Possible To Transfer Pokemon From An Emulator To A Hard Copy?
There's also a DS app called Savegame Manager but you need either an original DS or DS Lite and a DS flashcart to use it.

With an incredibly bittersweet final section finished, my first ever challenge for Ruby/Sapphire is finally complete, including 2 very special captures. Detail in comments.
If you can't get GBA Backup Tool to work you can try Savegame Manager. Hopefully that works a bit better for ya.

So i have a ds with a gba insert and i want to do 2 things. 1) put event things on my firered cartridge and 2) play pokemon emerald until i have a real cartridge and then be able to transfer it to that cartridge. Will this card be able to do that?
To manage your save file for Emerald and FireRed, use the DS homebrew DS Savegame Manager. It will also work for save games for all GBA and DS games.

Any way to copy save on cartridge and later bring it back to it?
If you have a 3DS with custom firmware, it's easy. Just used Checkpoint, it's designed for exactly this: https://github.com/BernardoGiordano/Checkpoint

Project mirai DX crashes upon selecting Romeo and Cinderella specifically. I've had this game on my console for years and this has mever happened. Any way to fix this? I REALLY don't want to lose all my S Ranks and Superhards :(
Save manager app, if you used 3DS.hacks.guide to homebrew it should be already installed (flag icon). Otherwise find it here

Need help with Mario Kart7, I already own it but I want to digitally download it......but
I can't remember if this specific method also copies your save game for you, so if the save game doesn't appear on the digital copy, you can use Checkpoint or JKSM to copy your save game from the cartridge to the installed version. You won't lost your save data.

Options to back up and write saves to and from cartridges and memory cards?
For DS/3DS, you can use Checkpoint on a 3DS to backup saves from carts.
-
Does PowerSaves work on ds cartridges?
3DS with CFW, using the Checkpoint homebrew. You want the .cia version. DS cartridges sometimes take up to 20 seconds to appear, but always show up at the top left of the icon grid. Backup and restore behave exactly how they do for 3DS games. This is the best and easiest way, do it if you can.
-
Just a friendly reminder to backup your saves. Regularly. If you can. And your save states.
On a 3DS with official carts you can use [Checkpoint](https://github.com/BernardoGiordano/Checkpoint) to back up *and restore* your DS & 3DS saves.

1080p/40fps on SD, better than my switch. DynamicFPS is amazing.
If you have a hackable switch that will get you going in the right direction. Then you need to use Checkpoint to dump the saves.
- can i transfer my save on a hacked switch to a clean one?
-
Nintendo is amazing, who doesn't love cloud-based saves?
A quick web search proves this wrong. If you own the hardware and have physical access to the data, you can always make your own backups of it. (And you should, if the data is important. Never, ever, ever trust a cloud provider to backup your data properly.)

What app does what?
To get checkpoint, go here and download the cia file. Put it somewhere on your sd card (it doesn’t matter where as long as you remember where it is) and then open FBI on your console. Click SD and from there find where you put the file. When you get to it press A and select “install an delete cia.” This will install it your home menu and then delete the cia so it doesn’t clutter your sd card (once it’s installed the cia isn’t needed).
What are some alternatives?
When comparing nds-savegame-manager and Checkpoint you can also consider the following projects:
