Yes, that is hard indeed. I found something online called MultiVNC and aPuppet that you can try. I don't know if aPuppet has a GUI, but considering MultiVNC uses VNC as protocol, it should have a GUI.

There is a GitHub project to use Remarkable as a second screen. I have not tried it.

Yes, see also https://github.com/matteodelabre/vnsee for the other direction. They don't need Connect. I believe most if not all work with Windows but probably slightly trickier to setup than with Linux.

There is a community VNC client for it. If you're on Windows you'll need a HDMI dummy plug to simulate a second screen with the proper dimensions.
