QOL&client-side for fabric 1.19
have you seen https://github.com/NordicGamerFE/usefulmods?
-
Advantages to using custom server software?
If you are hosting a survival server, consider using fabric because the performance increase is nearly the same as purpur and maybe even petal (depending on the mode you use) but it doesn’t break vanilla parity (again kinda dependent on the mods you use) this github repo has most performance mods that are out for fabric 1.19, use only some of the server sided ones if you chose to go that route
-
Is it just me or do newer modded versions run worse than 1.12.2? I can put 150 mods in 1.12 together no problem but at around 60 in the newer versions the game lags and freezes.
Yeah that is because vanilla Minecraft becomes more resource hungry You can try to fix it with Installing performance mods good list on this git. Update your Java- because modern java versions improve overall performance You can also try some good java arguments Update Drivers - and keep OS clean - maintaining your system will give u the best possible performance
What are some alternatives?
Mohist - Minecraft Forge Hybrid server implementing the Spigot/Bukkit API, formerly known as Thermos/Cauldron/MCPC+
Purpur - Purpur is a drop-in replacement for Paper servers designed for configurability, and new fun and exciting gameplay features.
Magma - Minecraft Forge Hybrid server implementing the Spigot/Bukkit API (Cauldron for 1.12)
Paper - The most widely used, high performance Minecraft server that aims to fix gameplay and mechanics inconsistencies
Geyser - A bridge/proxy allowing you to connect to Minecraft: Java Edition servers with Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

shulker-dupe - A client-side fabric mod that makes it easier to perform the shulker dupe. (discontinued for the time being as 1.19.1 has patched this, may look for bypasses soon)
