Test Driving a Rails API - Part Two
When starting a Rails project, you have a lot of decisions to make. Whether or not to write tests should not be one of them. The big decision is to use Minitest or Rspec. Both of those testing frameworks are great and provide everything you need to test a Rails application thoroughly.

Request Spec Realistic Error Response
I didn't figure out how to resolve this on my own. I only came across a solution by searching for others' approaches. I found this issue in rspec-rails's issue tracker. In there Michael Gee shares a workaround. The earliest reference to this approach that I can find is from Eliot Sykes in 2017. If you're aware of an earlier reference to this, let me know!

Who's using Rails 7 test
The rspec-rails gem falls back to rails' minitest code to do some things and there are some bugs with lifecycle hooks for example, check here https://github.com/rspec/rspec-rails/issues/2526 and https://github.com/rspec/rspec-rails/issues/2550 that needs workarounds, because rspec tests don't have the exact same lifecycle than minitest tests.
