Where to learn coding for Foundry?
Yeah, learning how to do other stuff in Javascript is a good way to start. But then maybe look at things like the example scripts in the community macros: https://github.com/foundry-vtt-community/macros

Patreons or places for macros for Dnd 5e
Have a look at the community free macro module. https://github.com/foundry-vtt-community/macros

Any good "VTTs" for in-person games using a TV for maps?
If you code at all, then Foundry jumps even higher up the recommendation list since it's designed intentionally to allow people to build stuff and add functionality. As someone who used to mess with R20 macros and their proprietary API, this is probably one of my favorite benefits to Foundry. They have some typical documentation though if you prefer examples the community macros repo is great for that.

Too long game breakage rant with a short follow up question.
Read some of the shorter/simpler macros from https://github.com/foundry-vtt-community/macros to get a sense of how they work.

How can I select multiple tokens easily?
This macro in the FoundryVTT Community Macros GitHub repository "selects all actors of the same name on the scene." I haven't tested it, but these macros have never given me issues in the past, and I recommend checking out that repo if there's ever something you're looking for.

Questions about Foundry, (Fog of War)
Quick size control (#2) is generally handled by macros. There's a macro for quickly swapping tokens between 1x1 and 2x2 in the community macros. If you want some that will just bump a token up or down 1 grid size, I can get you mine personal ones in a bit when I'm at my main computer/

Macro or Midi QOL for paladin Laying on Hands
Try this one: https://github.com/foundry-vtt-community/macros/blob/4e25a66ef7990dbcb0c9015b554286de147c5116/actor/5e_lay_on_hands.js

Trouble importing modules by external manifest.json on self-hosted
I've got my self-hosted foundry running, even got ssl and a dynamic dns domain set up, and installing modules from the in-foundry list works just fine, but as far as I can tell, it just silently fails when I try to import an off-list module. I've tried https://github.com/foundry-vtt-community/macros, https://github.com/moo-man/FVTT-DD-Import, a couple others. Am I missing something?

Should I switch to foundry VTT?
There is also an importer for DungenFog and Dungeondraft. I'm not the GM, but as far as I know that should be able to import proper walls, doors, and light for the maps, so very fast map setup.
-
My party is almost done renovating TSM, anything else I should add?
It doesn't make .json files, but you can export to "Universal VTT" format and you can import that with this module. It will bring any lighting, walls and doors over, just not secret doors as they obviously just look like a wall in the file.
-
Town Square Map, transparent roof and VTT file included
You need the dungeondraft import module for foundry. https://github.com/moo-man/FVTT-DD-Import Its easy to use but if you get stuck let me know. It uses the vtt file. Id always check all the walls and lights manually anyway. The walls in this map are very simple and the lights are actual lights so i doubt you'll have issues

Problems with the Universal Battlemap Import for Dungeondraft File
in case this is an export from the latest version you should create an issue on the module github https://github.com/moo-man/FVTT-DD-Import

Importing Dungeondraft and too much light
You could play with a macro like mentioned here: https://github.com/moo-man/FVTT-DD-Import/issues/46#issuecomment-723090247
