Is it possible to add this feature?
You are probably using Openbox as a window manager which does not provide this feature.. Replace Openbox with Xfwm4 (window manager of Xfce) or Kwin (window manager of KDE Plasma). See: https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt/wiki/ConfigWindowManagers

Problem with maximized window with two or more displays
I don't know your issue as I can't quite picture what you're describing sorry, but it does remind me of some issues with openbox (eg. https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt/issues/1704). Swapping out openbox as the WM will resolve the issue.

Why do popular distros treat any of their "KDE Editions" or flavours as second class citizens?
Yes, but also it relays on KDE, at least a little bit.

Replacing xscreensaver lock with xsecurelock?
I found this LXQt wiki page, ConfigScreensavers, so I tried the provided suggestions:

lxqt and screen locking
Configuring lock_command should work. See more on https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt/wiki/ConfigScreensavers.

Help with NixOS expression for Xfce docklike taskbar plugin
I am novice nixos user and I didn't really write any of nix expressions yet. I would like to have Xfce's docklike taskbar plugin (github link), so I would greatly appreciate if somebody could make one nix expression for me so I could build it? I also hope it's not too hard, but I am too sick and tired atm to comperhend documentation regarding it.

Why do icons in the window buttons seem to use random themes (Linux Mint 21 with XFCE)? I'm using Papirus icon pack, and it otherwise works fine, but in the Window Buttons panel applet, they seem to follow random themes. Can anyone help me out as to how I can fix?
Because of default xfce window task manager sometimes picks icons from .desktop files sometimes picks from window icons. I recommend xfce4-docklike-plugin

Ubuntu History (Unity Desktop Site, 2010-2017). In my opinion, Unity was (and still is) a professional polished desktop, which gave Ubuntu a unique identity.
A couple of distros now bundle the very nifty "docklike" task switcher, which is rather snazzy and integrates well: https://github.com/nsz32/docklike-plugin

It had to be done.
The final piece was the docklike-plugin you mentioned. This was the last straw. I attempted to follow the instructions found here: https://github.com/nsz32/docklike-plugin
What are some alternatives?
wayfire - A modular and extensible wayland compositor
xfce4-dockbarx-plugin - A plugin that embeds DockbarX into Xfce4-panel
mutter - Read-only mirror of https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter
papirus-icon-theme - Pixel perfect icon theme for Linux
polybar-themes - A huge collection of polybar themes with different styles, colors and variants.
arc-theme - A flat theme with transparent elements
imgui - Dear ImGui: Bloat-free Graphical User interface for C++ with minimal dependencies

dash-to-panel - An icon taskbar for the Gnome Shell. This extension moves the dash into the gnome main panel so that the application launchers and system tray are combined into a single panel, similar to that found in KDE Plasma and Windows 7+. A separate dock is no longer needed for easy access to running and favorited applications.
