New luxtorpeda-dev Client Release (Version 63)
Switch to using Steam Linux Runtime - Sniper for the built engines. This provides newer tooling for builds, which should make future development easier, for example being able to build qt 5.15 and have gcc 10 available. The 100+ engines have been re-built. Note that previous clients should still work on the older soldier, but any new updates will only happen to sniper (this client and above). If you run into any issues with the engines, please open a new issue in the packages repo.

"Sam & Max Hit the Road"s source port added to Luxtorpeda for Steam
What happened here is the Luxtorpeda is now allowing normal ScummVM to launch this game (this commit). I think before you needed the separate Roberta layer to do this.

Me and one of my cats grinding old school RuneScape on my deck (above the cat)
If you're not using a Jagex account yet, you can use the RuneLite appimage on their website https://runelite.net , but even without a Jagex account, I still find the Jagex Launcher handy (I have over 6 accounts I play on lol)

What subscription is worth every single penny?
Highly recommend using https://runelite.net/ as your client to play the game, the "official" client isn't too good nowadays. There's also an official android and iOS app which is amazing

Plugin language question
I'm not 100% sure on how it works but another Java project I've worked on (Runelite) has a plugin system for straight Java plugins that can be installed/enabled at runtime without restarts, so I feel like it should be doable. An upside to this is on that project a lot of their core features are structured just as pre-installed plugins, which gives prospective devs a lot of example material to work with when making their own plugins.
I would assume the relevant places to look would be the PluginManager and the ExternalPluginManager. Note that their system has a central Plugin Hub that developers submit their plugins to, so any references to a manifest are to the list of plugins on that hub.

How common are false bans with Runelite?
By any chance could you have mistakenly downloaded a hacked runelite client? From which the attacker then captured your login information as you played, then used your account to bot with until it got banned. Seems unlikely since it's a brand new account, but it's worth making sure: Check your browser history and ensure you got it from https://runelite.net/ and not a fake site.
I don't believe this is the case, unfortunately. I checked the download URL from yesterday and it matches the URL I get when I download from https://runelite.net.
