Logseq exists to increase the knowledge output of humanity.
We're building a better environment for learning and collaboration. We're currently building a neuron inspired knowledge base/personal knowledge assistant that captures, synthesizes, searches, and creates knowledge as fast as you think–a digital extension of your brain. We don't think in pages and folders, but today's tools do. It's slowing us down. Logseq gets you to answers and smarter decisions faster.
A Leader in the Tools for Thought space
We're a leader in the Tools for Thought space (with a unique focus on privacy and data ownership)––delivering on the pioneering work of Douglas Englebart, Alan Kay, Bret Victor, Vannevar Bush, and more. We're continuing the mission of augmenting human intellect and collective intelligence with computers, discovering novel UI + HCI and superpowers to do so :) More on our mission here: https://adventurous-ragdoll-1e0.notion.site/Who-is-Logseq-2c...
Ownership and Autonomy
As Logseq's first designer, you will immediately have substantial ownership of the feel and functionality of the product. We're building a new way to think, which requires considerable tradeoff consideration and thoughtful user driven design. You will own our first design systems, early design processes, foundational product decisions and more. We're aiming to build a new knowledge tool for billions of people to change the world: empathy, systems thinking, intense level of polish are prerequisite.
If you're passionate about Tools for Thought or making humanity smarter, would love to hear from you!

Starting with Markdown

Obsidian is a good recommendation. I also recommend checking out logseq. It's a journal note taking app similar to obsidian. Supports both markdown and org mode and it's also open source unlike obaidian.

I have been using logseq (https://logseq.com/) for some time now and have been in love since I started using it. This one also looks interesting.
[Appfluencing] Logseq for notes + Obisidan for writing
1 project | reddit.com/r/Cortex | 19 Nov 2021
Maybe Grey at al. should consider taking a look at Logseq for notes and then keeping Obsidian for writing, I've found the combo to work quite good, even though Logseq is still in beta and under heavy development. It's an outlining tool, sort of "Notion meets Roam under Org-mode for Emacs".

There is Logseq (https://logseq.com/) although it is more oriented to recreate Roam.

If you are of the Emacs inclination, org-roam (implying org-mode) writes and organizes notes; magit (implying Git) can store them.
What IDE do you use to code Python?

If you are open to editors, maybe you can take a look of Emacs :) The org-mode is great for taking notes and manage knowledge locally in plain text files.
Note taking wish-list - Looking for suggestions
4 projects | reddit.com/r/NoteTaking | 1 Dec 2021
For note taking, I personally use org-mode which I've found very powerful. It's essentially markdown with more features, such as date tracking, executable code block, built in export features and more. There is also a package for it called org-roam that is designed to make it easier to form a personal knowledge base with it.
1 project | reddit.com/r/DoomEmacs | 29 Nov 2021
It's just org, as far as I see. doom emacs has very good org ergonomics as well. https://orgmode.org/1 project | reddit.com/r/emacs | 29 Nov 2021
It's org mode! It's built into Emacs.
"Orgdown", the new name for the syntax of Org-mode
4 projects | reddit.com/r/emacs | 28 Nov 2021
Any OD-level needs to be compatible with Org-mode as implemented in Elisp for GNU/Emacs Org-mode according to the Org-mode webpage. Any ODx is a sub-set of the syntax elements of ODy (with y>x).
Adding Emacs Function for my Forem Pull Requests
5 projects | dev.to | 25 Nov 2021
When I’m done, I type Ctrl+c then Ctrl+c (e.g., C-c C-c in Emacs parlance) to copy the text from my Emacs buffer and paste it back into the browser’s text area. Magit and Org Mode use that key combination for confirmation of commands.

I guess a shout out to org mode? Org has SCHEDULED (start) and DEADLINE (due) dates. There are then configuration options for Agenda and Todo lists to hide tasks with a SCHEDULED or DEADLINE until those dates.
Neorg OR orgmode.nvim
8 projects | reddit.com/r/neovim | 18 Nov 2021
The best tool for writing notes and tracking TODOs is Emac's org-roam and Emac's org-mode respectively. Neovim has got some catching up to do, but I'm hopeful.
