Touch on the fold is one of the reasons why I would want one. The issue on that is the Intel Precise Touch support on Linux. The work on that is detailed here: https://github.com/linux-surface/intel-precise-touch/issues/8

For the touchscreen you need the intel IPTS touch drivers made for the Surface devices, for the display just one kernel option and then you're mostly good

Hi there. Yeah, I have the same problem trying to update to the current branches, but I don't have the time to really dig in and figure out what's up. For now I've just reverted to the last versions that worked for me: I'm using the (deprecated) Quo branch, and this commit for intel-precise-touch.

Multi-touch and the pen still do not work on the SP7, and other Gen7 devices, but there is work being done on it. Touchscreen still works with single-touch.

The awesome linux-surface team is working hard on it (you can follow their progress here if you're technically inclined), but its no small feat, so its hard to say when it will be supported and to what degree.

Well, I'm not a developer, but I am trying to keep somewhat up-to-date with the status of these things. From what I can tell, it looks like the camera should be working soon. At least there's been a lot of progress for everything earlier than the 7th gen devices, but I'm hoping the fix will work for the 7 too. See here. The pen looks to be stuck for the moment. It seems Microsoft/Intel changed things up in a hard-to-decipher way, so it's gonna be slow going unless someone from Intel gives them a hand. See here and here.
