hosts VS PiHoleBlocklist

I've added the Ads & Tracking list and the AMP Hosts list from Developer Dan to the default list; any others you recommend I add? It's hard to tell if the ads coming through are a 'my blocklist isn't good enough' problem or a 'my pihole's not set up properly yet' problem.

This is how you learn. Going forward you'll start noticing some ads and some not, based on the default adlist. I think the default adlist is good enough for starting. But you should also look into developer dan's adlist and ticked firebog adlist.

Enable most of the default ones, use DNS filtering. I use Cloudflare DNS. And for some third-party filters you can load, I recommend Steven Black hosts, OISD blocklists, Developer Dan hosts and AnudeepND Blacklist.

For what it's worth that domain in your repo is also listed in the 1Hosts block-list [1] but only in the Xtra category, not sure why. It seems that is a known malware site. Oddly enough it is not listed in the PiHoleBlocklist [2]

Smart-TV Blocklist

For example, https://github.com/Perflyst/PiHoleBlocklist/blob/master/SmartTV.txt blocks tons of crap tv's send out, but firewalla doesn't stop much of it and you know how smart devices are. Yes, you could make a manual list, but is insanely time intensive. Smart devices on my network; nextdns blocks over 10000 connections a day.

I use this [1] and never seen an ad on my LG TV. Its only for Smart TVs. It blocks all the major TV ad networks too but can't tell how successful it is on other TVs since I only have LG.
