Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Tutorial on how to use Active Storage on Rails 6.2
3 projects | dev.to | 13 Sep 2021
As mentioned, active storage uses third-party software to enable file processing. You can download and install libvipsor ImageMagick v8.6+ for image analysis and transformations, ffmpeg v3.4+ for video/audio analysis and video previews, and poppleror muPDFfor PDF previews separately, as Rails will not install this software.
Image Compression with Golang

However, this article has only one prerequisite, which is the installation of libvips, otherwise it will not be possible to process the images. If you happen to have Homebrew installed on your computer, the process is simpler.

Yep the same effect can be achieved with Google's Cloud Vision API for Android devices. You can also do it with any decent webcam using OpenCV so you don't even need a phone.
GitHub Down again 11/27/2021
5 projects | news.ycombinator.com | 27 Nov 2021
Is it possible for GitHub to mirror the releases in multiple different places(they likely do that, but I mean complete isolation where an outage like this doesn't break the downloads). Maybe like a proxy to object store, so it is a little more reliable(a setup such as this, should have less moving and custom parts).
So in a moment like this, you can convert https://github.com/opencv/opencv/archive/4.5.3.zip to https://archive.github.com/opencv/opencv/archive/4.5.3.zip. Maybe an implicit agreement of somewhat stale data by add the sub-domain "archive.". They'll try to maintain low sync times on a "best effort basis".)
Query regarding Multiple face recognization system
2 projects | reddit.com/r/MLQuestions | 25 Nov 2021
It's generally better to split the task into a multiple tasks. First I'd want to detect and extract faces. There are a number of pretrained models that you could use for that, e.g. https://github.com/timesler/facenet-pytorch, https://github.com/opencv/opencv/tree/master/data/haarcascades. Once you've extracted faces, you can train a facial recognition using something like a siamese network as you normally would.

Anyone tried the Cala Trio device?
1 project | reddit.com/r/EssentialTremor | 15 Nov 2021
It was 14 years ago when I made my IR setup, but as I think about the problem now I wonder if perhaps a high framerate stereo camera and OpenCV https://opencv.org/ , worn on the hand in a glove (or on the head with a cap), with cameras aimed at a QR code pattern, and attached to a belt-worn Raspberry Pi 4 and power pack, could yield anything of interest. Seems like this would force the wearer into possibly both intention and postural tremor. This wouldn't even touch the problems you mention of separating intentional movements from tremor movements though. Food for thought I suppose.
