Svelte just got a lot more interesting! Dominic who is the creator of LexicalJs and InfernoJs (which is known to be insanely fast) has joined the svelte core team and is now working at Vercel full time! Here is the announcement on Twitter!

Finally there's Slate and Lexical which are super powerful in terms of customizability and extensibility. They're great options for when the editing experience plays a major role in the product.

Yes, draftjs got superseded by Lexical.

I decided to try building something that was fast and easy to use, but more importantly minimal. It should provide a distraction-free experience and allow me to jump in and out of the app quickly, whenever thoughts occur. Plus, I also wanted to try out Next.js 13 and Meta's Lexical, so this seemed like a good opportunity. I used Firebase for the backend, but you could easily swap this out for something else.

Despite being a relatively newer player, Payload's GitHub repository has accumulated 18.8k stars and 1.1K forks as of April 2024, reflecting its growing community. The project has also secured $5.6 million in funding, positioning it for continued growth and innovation.

My most recent project launched in January. NextJS 14 client integrated with PayloadCMS (http://payloadcms.com) for the back-end. I love both technologies in theory, but they're both going through a renaissance period and "bleeding edge" doesn't even begin to describe it.

If I'm just building a client app, create-react-app is still my go to.

Before now, I'd been building on WordPress for 10+ years for anything client-administered. Planning on using Payload from here on out.

In this video series, we will set up PayloadCMS Headless CMS, create a Customers collection, log in as a Customer, create an account as a Customer.
