New releases of Kiwix JS browser extension and Kiwix JS Electron/UWP for Windows and Linux
Changelogs for these releases are: Kiwix JS browser extension and Kiwix JS Windows/Linux.

How do I get the reader started?
If you don't want the store version, an alternative is the Electron package here: https://kiwix.github.io/kiwix-js-windows/kiwix-js-electron.html - look for the package "Kiwix JS Electron Setup". Direct link to that package is: https://github.com/kiwix/kiwix-js-windows/releases/download/v1.8.5/Kiwix.JS.Electron.Setup.1.8.5-E.exe . I've just checked it, and I don't see any signature issue with that version. Let me know how you get on.

Can I pull the power on a headless Zero 2 W running Kiwix Hotspot?
But since you've found the repo and are not the first one to ask, feel free to open a feature request at https://github.com/offspot/kiwix-hotspot/issues
Github says it has limited writes on the root partition. Does that mean it's okay or do I need to wire up a switch? I'm having a hard time finding info on this. It would be neat if there was a raspberry pi shutdown link embedded on the hotspot's home page. https://github.com/offspot/base-image https://github.com/offspot/kiwix-hotspot

Using screen for kiwis
Edit: it actually is a feature request and has been scheduled for the next milestone.

Hotspot installer 2.4 is out!
This update is fairly important as it corrects a number of limitations that were on Raspberry Hotspots. The full changelog is here but here's what really matters:
-
Kiwix pi hotspot not working.
The FAQ indicates that RPi 4 manufactured from late 2020 on are not supported, but I also see that this ticket has been closed last week, so the upcoming 2.4 release should fix that.
