Like making Android 12 worse than 11 through a horrible UI with less customization than before, adding giant buttons to give you less options in the notification centre, making mobile data and wifi more inaccessible, removing dislikes from YT, trying (and failing) to make a game streaming service through Stadia, killing off Google Play Music for the shitty YT music, and killing off a WHOLE BUNCH of other stuff.
Can I have the old search menu back? This is just awful.

People are talking about Web3. Is it the Internet of the future or just a buzzword?

Google as an example is notorious for buying stuff only to gut it and then kill it off: https://killedbygoogle.com/
So last year Stadia ended the year really strong and everybody was happy. Blogs were shared saying there wer many plans for SG&E bringing exclusive games in the next few years. Then January happened…

Opinion on native eshop apps?

Just take a look at this https://killedbygoogle.com
Other than the few games that have been available to pre-order for some time, is Chorus the last "major title" to be announced for Stadia?

Pros and cons of porting to Google voice?
2 projects | reddit.com/r/NoContract | 27 Nov 2021
My $0.02: Google loves killing useful projects that don't make them a lot of money (https://killedbygoogle.com/). Google Voice has been basically dead and/or on life support for years, with no new features or changes (other than to take away the ability to forward SMS to a linked phone number because "spam" - requiring use of their app or web site). It's likely the only reason they haven't killed the service entirely is because so many people use it as their primary means of contact and it would look really bad - in the news, raise the ire of the FCC or Congress, etc.

I'd recommend checking out Element/Matrix.

Can you recommend a service for this purpose?

Signal alternatives that dont require phone numbers?
3 projects | reddit.com/r/privacy | 25 Nov 2021
Many clients implement Matrix, but there is an official client called Element (element.io), which is developed by the developers of matrix and is probably one of the most stable and feature rich client.
Has anyone tried to host element-web on a personal server?
3 projects | reddit.com/r/element | 21 Nov 2021
I'm using a VPS running Debian that I have used to host a matrix homeserver for a while now. I downloaded the latest release of element-web from github and extracted it to /var/www/element. I also set up a config file in /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/element. Then I copied the config in /var/www/element/element/config.sample.config to config.config and edited it. The only thing I really didn't understand how to do from the README was set up the correct caching headers, but I added add_header Cache-Control "no-cache"; to the nginx config file.
