My sv06’s garbage bed level
I just installed Ubuntu server and then used KIAUH to install Klipper. I was up and running in less than 20 minutes.

Klipper + octoprint = ???
Use Kiauh to install Klipper, with it you will be able to install Octoprint as well. It's the easiest way to have all set up correctly.

All you need to do is ssh into your PI and install the KIAUH script, it will then install everything you need https://github.com/th33xitus/kiauh
i’d recommend to install KIAUH as well through ssh afterwards. it basically allows you to add a couple other things on and make changes/updates afterwards. from what i understand the imager should do everything for you on an actual RPi though.

Potential new Voron user
I like to use KIAUH to install Klipper on the host. The Klipper documentation has instructions on making and flashing the part that comes on the MCU. And the Voron GitHub has sample configs you can use to get started.

Use a Pi if you can find one and do the same steps from above or use a pre-built image for the Pi like FluiddPI.

Mainsail looks nicer though... the only reason I went Fluidd over Mainsail is because FluiddPi was an easy route to trying Klipper. It's a Pi image with Klipper, Moonraker, and Fluidd pre-installed

Yes it would be the optimal way to setup Octoprint or finished Raspberry Images like FluiddPi or MainsailOS Octoprint is the „official“ base for Klipper though personally I never had a need for Octoprint Plug-ins and use FluiddPi since a year. Klipper has also its subreddit /r/Klippers

Octoprint using klipper for dummies
You need to get the latest fluiddPi. use this link https://github.com/cadriel/FluiddPI/releases/download/v1.16.2/fluiddpi-rpi-lite-v1.16.2.zip This will download the zip file that contains the Fluidd and Klipper software. Now follow the document and video to create a MicroSD card for the PI. The Pi is where Klipper/ fluidd runs. It does all of the work converting the Gcode and it then controls the printer board. Once you have the SD card created then you need to edit the fluiddpi-wpa-supplicant.txt file to enter your SSID and network password. This should get the Pi on your network. Re-read the instructions and see if this works.

Klipper "Lost communication with MCU" in the middle of prints.
Maybe try another type of klipper image instead of the Octoprint one as a sanity check? I use FluiddPi and it works very well. You can get an image here ... https://github.com/cadriel/FluiddPI/releases/tag/v1.16.2

Question: Is there any other benefits of Raspberry Pi and Octoprint set up besides monitoring, remote start stop, tune?
Works with front ends like Octoprint, but there are also frontends that are purpose built for klipper through the moonraker api such as Fluidd and Mainsail
