26 key layout analysis
I wrote a layout analyzer at some point and that was the reasoning.
-
Whats the reason y'all went OLKB?
And indeed quantitative studies tend to show that Colemak can be very good for other languages, for instance French: https://github.com/bclnr/kb-layout-evaluation (although you need to modify it slightly to add accented characters to reasonable spots). Interestingly enough, French variant of Qwerty (Azerty) is much worse than Colemak or anything.

alternative layouts like dvorak?
A while ago I coded a little comparison between layouts to help me with that decision, you might find it useful: https://github.com/bclnr/kb-layout-evaluation

Colemak vs Colemak-DH
Have a look at that maybe. There's a table with the numbers at the end. You'll see that DH scores better than Colemak in this ranking method, but the difference is really quite small compared to the gain from Qwerty.
- Whats the deal with Colemak and Ergo keebs?

[OC] Which language is easiest to type on the QWERTY keyboard?
These scoring systems already exist. Here's the first one I found: https://github.com/bclnr/kb-layout-evaluation

I switched from QWERTY to Colemak, but have OEM keycaps, so I taped letters to ease the learning process. Do you have any other advice?
Thank you, but I already read a comparison of a whole lot of layouts, and Colemak-DHm seems to be the best layout for those who come from QWERTY

Does anyone know how i can make this happen on a keyboard? Any recommendation on brand or model?
If you want to have layers without buying a QMK keyboard there's some software solutions like capsicain (most powerful, harder to configure, has limitations when working with wireless keyboards), Microsoft Powertoys keyboard manager (easy to configure, very limited with what you can do) that allow the same kind of functionally.
