kb-layout-evaluation VS BigBagKbdTrixPKL

I wrote a layout analyzer at some point and that was the reasoning.

And indeed quantitative studies tend to show that Colemak can be very good for other languages, for instance French: https://github.com/bclnr/kb-layout-evaluation (although you need to modify it slightly to add accented characters to reasonable spots). Interestingly enough, French variant of Qwerty (Azerty) is much worse than Colemak or anything.

Have a look at that maybe. There's a table with the numbers at the end. You'll see that DH scores better than Colemak in this ranking method, but the difference is really quite small compared to the gain from Qwerty.

Thank you, but I already read a comparison of a whole lot of layouts, and Colemak-DHm seems to be the best layout for those who come from QWERTY

Now that I use EPKL which basically runs on Autohotkey instead of using the built-in Windows functionality, it is a different hotkey. EPKL fucking rocks because it let's you turn caps (most typical choice, but you can pick anything) into a new modifier key, like alt or ctrl.

If you can run a non-administrator .exe file at school, EPKL could work. In fact, I used the original PKL on a flash drive when I was in school. EPKL comes with a handful of good layouts pre-configured, including the colemak mods, but has quite a learning curve if you're trying to do anything custom.

you can download the layout and install it as native windows layout and set it as your default keyboard layout so you can use it on login screen (without the extend feature tho)
