Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Audio slicing with Javascript
You can use a lib named JSZip : https://stuk.github.io/jszip/ You can add binary data (your audio slice) inside a zip like that

A Website to Archive Moodle Course Files - My first React Project
The ZIP file functionality was implemented using jszip - I'd originally wanted to download the files directly to a folder on the user's filesystem (coming from a scripting background) but turns out unrestricted filesystem access like that isn't something that browsers can do (at least from my limited research).

I created an EPUB reader with React
I use JSZip (https://stuk.github.io/jszip/) to parse EPUB files

Banano NFL Betting Pools
Your site went down for maintenance in the middle of my exploring, but here's some feedback so far. 1) The exports (CSV, PDF, etc) should probably include my username and Banano address. Right now there doesn't appear to be any indication of who a downloaded report is tied to. 2) Why do you let me download the database, including column names? If I was an attacker, I could use this to understand your DB layout and possibly do a SQL injection attack. I'd recommend masking the names somehow. 3) I did a quick review of the Github: a) jQuery 3.6.0 has a more recent version, 3.6.1 - https://blog.jquery.com/2022/08/26/jquery-3-6-1-maintenance-release/ b) In /history, you use JSZip 3.1.3, which has a known denial-of-service vulnerability that could take your site offline. This should be upgraded to 3.10.1 - https://stuk.github.io/jszip/

By Crayons and For Crayons
It uses other utility libraries like Lodash, JSZip and SortableJS. JSZip is used to package the user interface markup into HTML files and other required JavaScript files for a Marketplace App boilerplate in a compressed format and download them from the browser.

Drive a Tesla Cybertruck or literally any car on your browser with Threejs
JSZip - JSZip is a javascript library for creating, reading and editing .zip files, with a lovely and simple API.

Browsers can do that?
Another operation that is sometimes desired is to take several files and give the user a compressed file. There are actually a surprisingly large amount (jszip, pako) of client side options here, but my favorite so far when it comes to speed, size and working with .zip has been fflate. But if you'd like to work with other formats, there are also libraries to decompress 7-Zip, RAR & TAR.

Show HN: Appendable – Index JSONL data and query via CDN
Hi HN! A friend and I were inspired by projects like https://github.com/sql-js/sql.js and the idea of querying files served over CDN with HTTP range requests. We started thinking: what would a database that was specifically designed for this type of use case look like? So we started building one, and we landed on a functional prototype that we're pretty proud of!
With our prototype, Appendable, we're able to serve and query large (GB+) datasets by hosting them on a static file host like Amazon S3 or Cloudflare R2 without running a separate server and worrying about things like tail latency, replication, and connection pooling -- all that is handled for us by the file hoster.
Additionally, one tenet that we have been following is Appendable won't touch your underlying data, so your jsonl file is preserved and we point at that data instead of consuming it into an Appendable-specific file format. This keeps your data yours and makes it easy to introspect the data: just open it up with your favorite editor aka vim.
We're curious what you think, we're excited to build this out further to get the performance even better and add features like pubsub. Everything is open source at https://github.com/kevmo314/appendable.

Recommendations for data structure and storage
If you want to have persistence, then I would go with a database like Dexie, as it uses IndexedDB and has transactions. If you just want something that's in memory, you could look at Sql.js or something simple like lowdb.

I have a large JSON object (~2GB), what's the best way to make a site that lets you search through it and display the results without crashing?
not necessarily. you can host an html/js/sqlite site on github pages for free. json -> sqlite3 js -> sql

Extending SQLite with Rust
The reason I originally looked into this was to see if there's a way to use sqlite in wasm with indexeddb as the storage backend, getting a full SQL engine in the browser (like WebSQL, but actually using web standard API). Here is sqlite compiled to wasm, but only with the in-memory database, which is only of limited use. My conclusion was that it might be possible, but needs a ton of work in C interfacing with web APIs through emscripten, which is not fun at all.

Awesome SQLite
sql.js - A javascript library to run SQLite on the web
What are some alternatives?
Archiver - a streaming interface for archive generation
pako - high speed zlib port to javascript, works in browser & node.js
fflate - High performance (de)compression in an 8kB package
yauzl - yet another unzip library for node
tar-stream - tar-stream is a streaming tar parser and generator.
fast-zlib - Shared context synchronous compression
localForage - 💾 Offline storage, improved. Wraps IndexedDB, WebSQL, or localStorage using a simple but powerful API.
LokiJS - javascript embeddable / in-memory database
yazl - yet another zip library for node
FileSaver.js - An HTML5 saveAs() FileSaver implementation
PouchDB - :koala: - PouchDB is a pocket-sized database.
decompress - Extracting archives made easy
