ESLint provides sophisticated analysis of JavaScript or TypeScript sourcecode. Thankfully it can be configured as easy as Prettier for a monorepo. We can define an .eslintrc.json file in the project root and that will apply to all files in the Monorepo.

Use eslint, but that's not an alternative, you should lint your code anyway and benefit from (mostly) helpful hints and warnings.

For my static site generator, which is written in JavaScript, I have selected Prettier and ESLint as the formatting and styling guide tools. I chose them due to their popularity amongst other developers, with detailed documentation and high customizability. Also, I have been using Prettier for a while as a VS Code extension, so it would be nice to learn more about it.

To set up Prettier, start by installing the tool using npm:

Like Prettier, ESLint is a very commonly used tool that I see often so I chose it as the Linter for my repository.
