RSS Feeds for Information about what the Government is Doing
1 project | news.ycombinator.com | 9 Jan 2022
I have a large collection of RSS feeds that I assembled by visiting various government websites. I wish I had found this site sooner, but they are missing a lot of other government feeds. I would also suggest using Newsboat when reading all the news. https://github.com/newsboat/newsboat

Newsboat is a command line based RSS reader! I've never used it but I've heard good things about it! I've heard about it through Bryan Jenks so maybe check his videos and blog posts on it!

Ask HN: What do you read for general knowledge?
1 project | news.ycombinator.com | 14 Dec 2021
It is composed of the relatively small number of the high profile developers that occasionally pop up on HN. Most are blogs I found of less known developers which I bumped into when searching other stuff or when casually browsing Github/Twitter/StackOverflow. I try to add new feeds wherever I find them.
Would have shared RSS subscription list if was easily possible, however I use the newsboat program and read the aggregate in the terminal. It's stored locally.
Ask HN: What RSS Reader do you use on your Linux desktop?
1 project | news.ycombinator.com | 1 Dec 2021
Newsboat (https://newsboat.org/), a terminal news reader. It sounds techie, but it isn't. How do I know? I'm not techie and I use it every day :-)
Is there a Linux RSS reader that can automatically download media from Feeds?

I think you can set a macro in newsboat to an external command/script. Check out this wiki page. I don't know if it can be automated though.
