JavaFX links of the week for March 18th-24th 2023
Important message in the release notes: "JavaFX 20 is compiled with --release 17 and thus requires JDK 17 or later in order to run. If you attempt to run with an older JDK, the Java launcher will exit with an error message indicating that the javafx.base module cannot be read."

WebFX - A JavaFX to JavaScript application transpiler. Write your WebApp in JavaFX and WebFX will transpile it in pure JS.
JavaFX has been open-sourced after Oracle dropped it, and it's still in active development (they just released version 19 a month ago, see https://openjfx.io and https://github.com/openjdk/jfx). Also Gluon (https://gluonhq.com) made the toolchain to compile it into native apps for Linux, macOS, Windows, Android & iOS. So with now WebFX compiling it to the web, you get a fully cross-platform UI toolkit that lets you target all major platforms (Desktops, Web, Tablets & Mobiles) from a single Java code base. That's why I think it is interesting, especially for Java developers.

As with previous releases, the JavaFX community once again succeeded in keeping the 6-months release cycle going on, with a long list of improvements and fixes!

Releasing Zig projects with JReleaser
https://github.com/jreleaser/helloworld-zig defines to a Helloworld app written in Zig, built for Linux and MacOS (x86_64) using GitHub Actions, releasing with JReleaser. With this setup, targeting package managers such as brew, scoop, winget, and thew like becomes much easier. Hope it can serve as a starting point for discussing how Zig built binaries may be released.

JReleaser 1.0.0 is here!
The day has come. JReleaser v1.0.0 is here! I'm beyond ecstatic to post this announcement as this release is the culmination of multiple efforts made by all contributors, taking into account feedback received by several early adopters, some of which can be seen here. Remember that all deprecated code has been removed, we recommend upgrading to v1.0.0-M3 first to find out if your build uses deprecated features before moving to v1.0.0.
