Jellyfin for Android TV (version 0.15.12): Television client for Jellyfin, the free software media system

This is an example of the kind of issue I'm having. I also recently tried to apply subtitles and it didn't work. It's a real shame as it fails the wife test as Plex works without issue.

I'm working on the app in my spare time and while I do have some specific items in focus (like the playback rewrite) I always end up working on the things I want to work on. There is a "roadmap"-ish list here: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-androidtv/projects/15 but it's not always up-to-date and in no way a promise that everything will happen.

I assume this is the GitHub repo?

Could potentially be something with exoplayer there is a Amazon ExoPlayer Port https://github.com/amzn/exoplayer-amazon-port

ExoPlayer added support for dolby vision a couple versions ago. Jellyfin uses a port that’s supposed to run better on the fire tv devices, but it hasn’t been updated in a few months. I was able to get the dolby vision logo to pop up after building the app with the most recent ExoPlayer release, so it should work whenever Amazon updates their port.
