I just feel like it's easier to get going with either Dart https://pub.dev/ or NPM than with MavenCentral.
  • New to Flutter. Wondering where the OS and Web integration stands right now

For your use-cases, Flutter has almost all of this available already, and support for more complex desktop stuff like context menus, taskbar icons, auto-updating and other stuff can be easily achieved via packages from the community at pub.dev (or flutter gems if you need a curated list!).

But eventually when this project is finalized they'll put it on pub.dev, then you can just install it as a dependency.
  • Many major dart packages are not working
    3 projects | reddit.com/r/FlutterDev | 19 Aug 2022
This is caused by a bug in pana, the program that pub uses to analyze packages. It's already been fixed and should be rolled out Soon™️. Github issue here.

This seems like an issue with the website pub.dev not with the packages directly. (wouldn't be the first time something like this happens)
  • Is there a need for Dart backend frameworks?
    2 projects | reddit.com/r/dartlang | 19 Aug 2022
What kind of framework are you looking for? There are decent and stable libraries already, I've seen multiple backend apps using Dart (e.g. pub.dev on AppEngine, non-public server apps with `postgres` and `shelf_router` and other libraries). There is also `conduit`, `jaguar`, `angel` and probably lot more that I'm not closely following...

  • How do you find good packages for Vue?
    3 projects | reddit.com/r/vuejs | 14 Aug 2022
So I recently started using vue after a short course, and I'm not really able to grasp the ecosystem. Coming from flutter there is pub.dev, a neat site with all sorts of packages. With vue I cannot seem to find any sort of centralized system. There is NPM but it literally contains every single javascript package for every single framework, I just find myself finding so many components last updated 4-6 years ago that don't work anymore and have to add "vue" to every search query. Even if I sort through NPM with the "maintenance" sort I still find 5yo stuff. There are tons of these half-sketchy sites with random collections of components but none of them seem particularly quality.

Earlier today I browsed pub.dev and came across getwidget which is a package with a set of prebuilt widgets. Are there other packages alike, if so, could you share those. And lastly, are there any ambitious packages out there that are like MaterialApp and CupertinoApp that have their own distinct nav system, animations, etc. (I think it is one for Windows)
