Google Ordered to Identify Who Watched Certain YouTube Videos
For those who have not already heard of it, check out invidious: https://invidious.io/
A list of public instances (which you probably want to use if you're concerned about being identified) here: https://docs.invidious.io/instances/

YouTube is loading slower for users with ad blockers yet again
Use a Youtube proxy like Invidious [1], problem solved and you get to subscribe to channels without telling the Beast about your interests. Add Sponsorblock (which supports Invidious) to get rid of any in-stream advertising which remains and you'll be transported back to those hallowed times of yore when men were men, women were women and advertising was something you found in newspapers. Youtube will try to make this harder just like Xitter is trying to make it harder to use proxies like Nitter [2].

YouTube begins new wave of slowdowns for users with ad blockers enabled
Going to drop this here for others who haven't heard of it https://invidious.io/
Now, how do we fix this? YouTube's ad model sucks. Their algorithm sucks. Their front page sucks. They've captured a bunch of creators though so often YouTube is the only place you can find someone.
I want those creators to benefit from me viewing their videos. I want the fact that I view a video and like it to help other people find that video in their recommendations. I want an algorithm that shows me things that are interesting and relevant not one that promotes the spammiest and most ad heavy videos that barely have anything to do with my watch history.
Having an alternative front end is nice but I don't want to rob YouTube of the money they spend on hosting the videos.
So, how do we do this?
Peer to peer fails when there is little interest in something or when most people leech and it sucks for archiving old content.
Hosting it all in one place is super expensive and hard for a small group to manage without turning into YouTube.
Maybe we could find a way for the creators to host their own content and get paid when people view it while being part of a large federated network for easy discoverability?
Please list any projects you know of, I'm sure there are a lot of people here who would be willing to contribute or donate.

YouTube's ban leads to a record number of users uninstalling their ad-blockers
Because (a) it's not that widely known and (b) Google is trying to block it [1], so many instances are broken now, which isn't a great experience.
-
YouTube wants to get you watching more news from 'authoritative sources'
You can find public instances but they are a bit hit or miss since youtube can often throttle those instances.
I have it running on my home server (so not throttled) and am quite happy with the result.

Piped – An alternative privacy-friendly YouTube front end
Invidious is a good piped alternative for those starting to look at this space: https://invidious.io/
Yattee is a good front end app for both piped and invidious for Apple TV (and iOS and macOS but I prefer the browser on those platforms)

WHY YOUTUBE PREMIUM ISN'T AVAILABLE IN JORDAN
Vanced official website: https://vancedapp.com/
-
[question] why is vanced no longer working?
https://vancedapp.com is the ONLY official site.
-
Is this normal battery drain? I'm getting high idle drain too
The only official Vanced website was https://vancedapp.com, while the only official ReVanced website is https://revanced.app (currently redirects to GitHub).
-
Who's laughing now?
The website for vanced you link isn't official one, so high chance of it spreading Malware. This one's official: https://vancedapp.com/. Also, dislikes still show in vanced, if it doesn't then it will work after troubleshooting
you are obviously correct. https://vancedapp.com IS official site, but due to google seizing the app, they removed all links to vanced manager from this official site.

Switched from chrome, how can I block Ads on mobile?
FYI, that website is fake and could be malicious. The real one is https://vancedapp.com, and the app is not available anymore since Vanced was discontinued over a year ago.
-
What in the hell is this?
I was on my phone so I couldn't elaborate. The download link opened an ad, followed by a play store page for another app, followed by fake "you won!" pages and more ads. That wasn't the official page. This is the official one: https://vancedapp.com/
This is the correct link: https://vancedapp.com/

ULPT: Skip the last 2 spotify ads by going into airplane mode during the 1st ad
Hey, whatever link you posted is possibly malware, not legit, etc. The actual vanced website is https://vancedapp.com. It was discontinued a while back due to legal threat from Google, and instead the new project is Youtube ReVanced (a series of patches that are compiled and then injected into the app, rather than distributing a pre-modified apk file). There's a sub for it, /r/Vanced
-
this is a real patent held by sony
You can go to https://web.archive.org/and open a snapshot of the official vanced site (https://vancedapp.com/) before/when they announced that the project is discontinued (13.03.2022) and download the latest vanced manager apk. After installing you should be able download all the vanced apps through vanced manager.
