LTT video on de-Googling removed for "violating community guidelines"
In your comment you said "the first video taken down from LTT", which is not true.
Yes, this might be the first video removed for _one specific reason_. This also might be the first video where he broke external links policy[1]
> Links to websites, apps, or other sources that give unauthorized access to audio content, audiovisual content, video games, software, or streaming services that normally require payment
as he left a sequence of links to "alternative YouTube UI"[2]

Firefox and uBlock origin results in infinite YouTube ads
I love invidious but two or three times a month, youtube rolls out an update that breaks it.
eg, last week (not yet bypassed): https://github.com/iv-org/invidious/issues/4734

Google has been blocking Invidious with error "This helps protect our community"
There’s comments on the issue that suggest that this is impacting any YouTube user rather than just Invidious users: https://github.com/iv-org/invidious/issues/4734#issuecomment...

Mobile Ad Blocker Will No Longer Stop YouTube's Ads
Youtube seems to be doing some A/B testing with the comment system which has made proxies like Invidious and yt-dlp/Newpipe unable to load comments. There is a patch for Invidious [1] which solves this problem but it is not in master yet. I tested it on my own instance and it does solve the problem.

Could anybody explain it to me?

YouTube to restrict teenagers' exposure to videos about weight and fitness
Hey Google, here's a suggestion: how about you make it possible to restrict a kids' account to only be able to view certain channels, disabling "the algorithm" altogether?
Of course, that would lead to kids seeing less videos, so that is of course not an option, so while Google now tunes the algorithm a bit w.r.t. weight and fitness, it is of course no problem that any young boy wanting to see some gaming videos will still be lead straightly to "Jordan Peterson destroying this feminist" and Joe Rogan interviewing some nutjob and saying steroids are fine but vaccines are evil.
So here we are, but fortunately, there's a solution: Disable Youtube everywhere except on a little Linux desktop PC, install freetube
https://freetubeapp.io/
Add channels that are fine, set a PIN for changing the channel list, and voila, a safe Youtube environment.

LG and Samsung Are Making TV Screens Disappear
On desktop I moved all my preferred channels on FreeTube and couldn't be more happy.

Occasionally it may break because for obvious reasons Google does their best to force people to use their unwatchable page, but usually the fix comes out very quickly.

YouTube is A/B testing limiting logged out access to videos
The only way I view Youtube is through FreeTube (desktop Linux [1]) and NewPipe (Android [2]). I would not be surprised it Google finally killed their access in some way.

Ask HN: Good way to extract small parts of YouTube videos as you watch
I've been using youtube-dl for years. And https://freetubeapp.io/ is amazing. But what I really want is right in the gui where the video is playing being able to mark timecode1,timecode2 and then download just that small clip.
Flow like this: hit spacebar to pause, then press A to mark that SpotA and then hit space bar again to resume playing... space again to pause, then press B to mark that SpotB. Download and repeat again for another section in video.
Before I build myself a gui to do this, is there a good way already?

A Lawsuit Argues Meta Is Required by Law to Let You Control Your Own Feed
The biggest reason I use FreeTube (https://github.com/FreeTubeApp/FreeTube), is because it shows me uploads in chronological order from ALL of my channels, which youtube outright refuses to do.
