Unless they’ve changed things, there is no containerization within the VM a la kata. They run their own custom init inside the VM and use it to start the entry point. https://github.com/superfly/init-snapshot is the source.

If you even don’t want to host the deployment environment, upload your docker images to https://fly.io. It brings your services online in minutes. Once you have more time on the future you can run your docker images on your own infra later.
Looking for a new hosting service for a side project now that heroku is dropping their free tiers. Any recommendations?

Before getting into other options, I should say I've heard very good things about fly.io. I've never used it personally, but it seems like a potentially great free option for Node.js hosting. If you're interested give this tutorial a try and let me know how it goes.

I cloned your repo and created a mongodb of my own in Atlas. I changed nothing but the connection url and deployed the app to fly.io and... everything works like a charm. I'm able to connect, read and write entries from the app end-to-end.
Deploy without interrupting clients is hard.

One key difference is that LiveView is stateful and uses WebSocket connections, whereas Turbo Drive/Frame (Hotwire) is stateless and uses HTTP. Practically this means that if you have users spread all over the world, LiveView might cause extra latency unless you have edge (regional) servers, e.g. deployed through https://fly.io.
