  • Best Music Source To Download A Library As A One Off?
    1 project | /r/Beatmatch | 12 Mar 2021
I wouldn't recommend ripping from YouTube for quality and ethical reasons, but if you want to go that route, I wrote a program that will take a Spotify playlist, get the track info, search for each track on YouTube, and rip the audio. It was more of a personal project for me to learn a new programming language, and it only works with Spotify, but you're free to use it if you'd like to get your library started.

If you're a Spotify user, I wrote a tool for this called Audia. You can find it on Github here. You basically give it a link to a Spotify playlist that you want to download, and it uses youtube-dl in the background to grab the audio of each track. There are details on the Github page. I don't encourage piracy, but I can't ignore the fact that it does happen, and I simply wrote this as a programming exercise. If anyone here happens to program in Go, contributions are welcome.
