For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Odyssey Expansion - Returning player
So I strongly suggest icarus, especially if you have a tablet collecting dust (I bought one just for this). Material helper is an absolute must, so is an account on inara.cz.
-
Odyssey
From my POV, the game has only one major flaw: it became too big, but the UI didn't match that to help the players. Basically: without inara.cz, material helper and icarus, it is just too confusing and hard to get around.

ardent-industry.com - Trade & Exploration data
I created the API so I could use it with ICARUS Terminal as there aren't any services which provide an API for trade data, but I expect I will build out the website a bit too to add features.
-
Ardent API for EDDN now in Beta
I have released a web front end for this yet (or integrated it into ICARUS Terminal) but it's the only open source version of a currently active service like this, so I thought I'd share it, and the new API documentation for other developers.

Best tools for ED
This is something I've written, but you might find a use for ICARUS Terminal: https://github.com/iaincollins/icarus

Create executable file from Docker image
But one person made a perfect approach; companion JS app that can be served in browser of different computer. You simply npm start, it connects to E:D logs and it auto-updates the browser on my tablet.

Exploration: what to scan?
If you are running Elite Dangerous on PC and you have a second screen (e.g. second monitor, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.) then you might like ICARUS Terminal.
-
I am eternally grateful to all our DEV CMDRs, for making all this possible! o7
The screen in the middle is ICARUS Terminal. If you are playing on PC you can run ICARUS Terminal on it and open the app on the iPad via browser.

Exploration: what to scan?
EDDiscovery will list the scan value of every body in the system. Even better, EDDI can be configured to tell you audibly what bodies are worth mapping, after you are done scanning
If you are exploring in the black, mapping new systems, you would also need to run something like EDDI or EDDLite configured to send data to ESDM.net for the best experience.
The EDDI wiki explains how to configure it in detail. By default, it will talk at you a lot (too much, IMO). How I have it set up:
-
ICARUS Terminal now shows biological, geological and other signal sources
It is still best to use something like EDDI or EDDLite to send data EDSM but ICARUS Terminal will blend that data with your local scan data to provide real time updates to a second screen as you explore when using a Discovery Scanner, Full Spectrum Scanner or Surface Scanner.

[Elite Dangerous] How to detect if something is already on?
EDDI as a plugin for VA which gives you access to loads of variables and statuses within VA to build commands with. For example {BOOL:Status lights on} would tell you if vehicle lights are on or off. (Note it should automatically start as plugin with VA, it can be started standalone but it's very talkative by default and will conflict with VA).

EDHM + EDDI + Reshade has given Elite that new feeling again, and I love it
EDDI - In game voice app, provides detailed in-game voice assistant like experience - Use it with a voice of your liking from Harpo Software (has a 30 day free trial) for the best experience - https://github.com/EDCD/EDDI
-
Feeling kind of lost
https://github.com/EDCD/EDDI - similar to EDDiscovery, integrates with data sharing and also with voice attack (highly recommend the latter if you use VR)
-
Feel so stupid, just lost a Conda in a simple hauling job
It does get marked on the compass after you enter the mail slot, but I like using EDDI and/or EDDiscovery, both of them have a voice line that plays after you request docking along the lines of "landing pad 39 is at 4 o'clock near, as you enter with the green lights on your right" so it both reminds you which side of the mail slot you're "supposed to" enter on (closer toward the green lights rather than the middle), as well as telling you where the landing pad will be.

Are there any "must have" or just good in game Mods (PC). I know there are a bunch of web browser tools but thinking back to my olds day of WoW
I also really like EDDI which runs in the background, can give voice updates and integrates with sites like EDSM.net if you add in an API key to help map the galaxy for everyone (and works really well with ICARUS giving real time updates to system maps). I like EDDI so much I bought a commercial voice for Windows to use with it.
