You can use this tool which supports Linux. Note that checkm8 reliability on linux for A7 devices is horrendous, it likely will not work.

[HELP] Boost my old iPad mini 1st gen with jailbreak and downgrade
I jailbroke my 9.3.5 iPad mini with Phoenix and then downgraded with iOS-OTA-Downgrader (this will wipe your device). Then I installed daibutsu along with the 8.4.1 untether from the daibutsu repo.

iPad mini 2 both 2.01 and 2.1 get stuck on exploiting device and the iPad just stays in dfu mode. I’m using a hackintosh could that be why?
I had this problem too, you might need to try another utility called Vieux https://github.com/MatthewPierson/Vieux

You can install iOS 6 on any iPhone 4S by using a special method. So these scalpers are taking iPhone 4S's, downgrading them to this older version, and selling them for a higher price as if they were rare.

You can't downgrade a 6 or 7 from iOS 11-14 to iOS 10. You can downgrade a 5S to 10.3.3 using vieux or of course get a 5 which has 10.3.4 as the latest.
