How about going Headless (CMS)?
Ghost for tiny blogs that only need pages and posts, and don't need any other customization around content types or fields, Strapi for teams that have the time to continually maintain projects, and the budget to keep applications running continually, and Webiny for everything, since it's really customizable and easy for writers to create and modify content types. There are others, but these are the ones I have the most experience with.

Maybe you could take a look at Ghost? It's a blog only CMS, and I'm guessing you'd be able to create a custom theme for you customer with ease.
