You can create a blank repository by visiting repo.new or using the gh repo create command with the GitHub CLI. Enter the following command to create a new repository, set the remote name from the current directory, and push the project to the newly created repository.

Why is GitHub cli not properly integrated in Linux?

I haven't tried the official GitHub CLI tool yet, but something rubs me the wrong way about installing it. Considering you can use three different package managers on Windows and on Mac each (the only three package managers windows has anyway), I find it kind of irritating that you need to jump through some (any) hoops on Linux. They're small hoops, but they make me wonder and hence ask here, why the hell?2 projects | reddit.com/r/linuxquestions | 6 Jan 2022
It's also just a single binary so you can just download it from the releases page and put it in your $PATH

Our team loves using Github’s Command Line Client for increased efficiency and time saving. The Command Line Client works by bringing pull requests, issues, and more right to the terminal next to where you’re already working, so you can see your entire GitHub workflow in one place. You can also call GitHub to script almost any action and set a custom alias for commands. It can install directly on Windows, Linux, or macOS, and is also available for repositories hosted on GitHub.com and GitHub Enterprise Server 2.20+.
