Trying to install a fork of a plugin but running into issues
This was based on the instruction I found here: https://github.com/oznu/homebridge-syno-spk/issues/29 But I seem to be having an issue. This is the message I get in the logs:
-
Homebridge not appearing in Synology Package Center
I believe you will want the armada37xx package from this page: https://github.com/oznu/homebridge-syno-spk/releases/tag/3.0.9
-
Homebride n00b struggling to connect to Homebridge on Synology NAS
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I found this issue, which helped me fix it: https://github.com/oznu/homebridge-syno-spk/issues/108
- Does homebridge run best on certain hardware?

Running Homebridge natively on Synology NAS
The Homebridge Synology Package was recently updated to allow running Homebridge natively on Synology DSM 7, without the need for Docker. This means more NAS models are supported, including the entry level ARM cpu based units.

Homebridge using Onzu Synology package - upgrading to DSM 7. .
For those using the pre-configured package for Synology: https://github.com/oznu/homebridge-syno-spk When you upgrade to DSM 7.0 you will acquire an error it is no longer compatible. Note the docker container will still be running and I think you will still be able to use. I however wanted to switch to docker directly and can confirm if will work and migrate without issue (that I have seen). 1. Note the folder you store you config to, i.e. docker/homebridge and take a copy 2. Uninstall the Homebridge App (at this point you will lose the docker image). 3. Follow the steps here: https://github.com/oznu/docker-homebridge/wiki/Homebridge-on-Synology#homebridge-package-for-synology-dsm ensuring you use the SAME config directory noted in step 1. I have tested this and it looks to pickup where it left off. Just though I would share for anyone who had / has the same issue.

Does the Tailscale package install Wireguard kernel headers?
On the otherhand I can see where this is coming from because instead of having to compile wireguard yourself for dsm7 (for example as provided by https://github.com/runfalk/synology-wireguard) but can simply install the tailscale 3rd party package via package manager of all you need is the underlying wireguard files.

[Guide] Using VPN with Docker Containers on DSM 7
Has anyone gotten this to work with Wireguard, though? I know Gluetun supports it, but in all of my attempts I cannot get it to work with Synology, even using this package that supposedly adds the required backend support for Wireguard.

Fastest way to set up second NAS for hyper backup
I could also have configured the remote nas to connect to my own vpn server (running rapsbian on a raspberry pi using https://pivpn.io vpn server whichboffers ipenvpn or wireguard) but as I already switched from openvpn (which synology supports natively) to wireguard, that option wasn't easily possible (might maybe also have a docker solution or via https://github.com/runfalk/synology-wireguard which also deals with having to start things manually on dsm7 as no longer 3rd party services are allowed to be started), hence I stayed with Zerotier.

DS1821+ Wireguard kernel module?
I'm trying to compile the wireguard kernel module on my DS1821+ and not getting anywhere.
-
Separate Docker Container for VPN?
Here’s the “howto” I used to get it working “back in the day”. I had to replace wireguard for OpenVPN as Synology doesn’t support Wireguard directly, and I didn’t feel like installing unofficial kernel plugins

Is anyone successfully running Wireguard with a ui in Docker on their Synology box?
I'm struggling to find an answer to this after hours of googling and trying a few docker images. I am aware of the third party synology-wireguard package but I would prefer either a docker solution (or a native Synology solution). Can anyone point me to a decent tutorial that you have used or point me in the right direction. I feel like I'm missing something obvious here as I would assume this is a common ask ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
