Thrustmaster FFB wheel on linux
I already found this but im such a noob to linux i can't complete the installation since i don't completely understand how i'm supposed to do it.
-
No space, so I installed my rig on my window! (details on comments)
I play Automobilista2, Dirt Rally 2.0, Dirt4, Dirt3, AC, BeamNG.drive . I use the hid-tmff2 wheel driver (dkms module). Protopedal script for pedal/device emulation. Or sometimes xboxdrv if protopedal doesn't fit my use case perfectly. Everything works fine(tm) but of course as is the Linux way, things do need fiddling sometimes. But I like the learning experience and treat it more like an additional hobby.

Does https://github.com/Kimplul/hid-tmff2 suppoprt the Thrustmaster T300 RS GT ?
My question is pretty much the title. Its obvious that https://github.com/Kimplul/hid-tmff2 supports the Thrustmasrter T300 RS but I am not sure about the GT version.

Are there currently any Direct Drive racing wheels for driving sim/gaming available that work on Linux?
Not completely true. There exists a driver for Thrustmaster T300: https://github.com/Kimplul/hid-tmff2 Other wheels I also have seen supported are some fanatec wheels: https://github.com/gotzl/hid-fanatecff

How's T300RS on Linux currently?
I tried ACC and Raceroom on Linux (Manjaro)with the T300 am hid-tmff2 Module. ACC worked fine, but at first was having problems with the Wheel profiles. Had copied the Game settings from Windows, but after deleting everything and creating a new profile it was fine. Raceroom has a problem with the T300, Game starts fine but the Wheel pulls to the right and it's not drivable. Only without FFB. https://github.com/Kimplul/hid-tmff2/issues/39

Current state of SimRacing in Linux (Updated to 2022-2)
Vdrift: Another veteran game, based on the Vamos physics engine. With almost 15 years behind it, the game allows players to drive lots of cars through detailed scenarios based on real circuits. The physics of the game are quite realistic as it corresponds to a simulator, and of course we will be able to use it with multiple devices such as keyboards, controllers and steering wheels, including the experimental support of Force Feedback. The project that looks in certain aspects like a commercial game, is stopped, with small corrections in the code as we can see in the page of the project. As we have heard from its main creator, Joe Venzon, it would be ideal if someone resume the project or make a fork to create something completely new. Hopefully this will happen and that this remarkable project will continue and not be forgotten. More info in the VDrift website and in his project page.

Good and amazing post. Thanks for talk about my outdated post. Really new-lg4ff and the work on Proton and Wine changes a lot of things on the simracing on Linux. I would like to point some things on your words: -About Vdrift and Speed Dreams: the first project is almost abandoned, and only there are some minor corrections on main code. There are no new features. About the game resources (cars and tracks), in the last months an user create two new tracks for the game, Algarve and Baku.
What are some alternatives?
