HANDSONTABLE VS React Data Grid

We are currently working on translating three new UI labels into 18 different languages. Can you help us out with it?

I've always liked https://handsontable.com/ but I'm not sure what the licensing is for something other than a personal project.

All our packages are on npm, so depending on the framework you use, you can install it as follows:

handsontable is pretty decent, as long as you don't attach too much custom stuff to it.

Looking at their repo though, they are using an old version of React and all the deprecated componentWill... lifecycle methods. Better be careful with this library.

Yes, we are using the `componentWill...` methods. They work in the version 17. Their deprecation was announced but postponed to a future release. Anyway, we are tracking it and will update the code soon: https://github.com/handsontable/handsontable/issues/8748. The React wrapper is an important one for us and we are actively supporting it.

Hey, I’m one of the engineers working on Rowy. We use react-data-grid [1], which has built-in support for virtualized lists rendering. They have demo of a table with 1000 rows and the scrolling stays smooth [2]

no, i missed that one when i was searching, but from the homepage and a quick glance through the docs it doesn't seem like it does what i need. what i want is something like react-data-grid [https://github.com/adazzle/react-data-grid] but with a backend component that handles collaborative updates. essentially a stripped down and actively maintained alternative to ethercalc [https://ethercalc.net/]

baserow had a lot of what i wanted, but the top-level feature set seemed very oriented towards a db admin tool rather than a programmatically managed user interface to single tables or views.

I have a bulk of tabular data that I'd like for my users to be able to manipulate with a lot of the kind of standard spreadsheet functions like filter, sort, search. Generally I'm more interested in read than write. I can across: https://github.com/adazzle/react-data-grid

I has dnd grouping, but it falls short on server side rendering. It seems like the maintainers are not interested in implement this feature(https://github.com/adazzle/react-data-grid/pull/1459)
