Really great overview!
I've been tracking some of them for a while as part of evaluating which ones to add to my key-value abstraction library gokv [1], but others only noticed recently. It's really interesting that there's no single most popular implementation, but new ones emerging and gaining popularity regularly.

As I mentioned in a comment above you could probably just use AgageDb (Rust implementation of Badger which is a single file high performance KVP store. Turn off all of its built-in transactional behaviour and see how fast it runs on BTRFS using reflinks instead.

What are some alternatives?
chproxy - Open-Source ClickHouse http proxy and load balancer
goleveldb - LevelDB key/value database in Go.
groupcache - groupcache is a caching and cache-filling library, intended as a replacement for memcached in many cases.
buntdb - BuntDB is an embeddable, in-memory key/value database for Go with custom indexing and geospatial support
jaeger - CNCF Jaeger, a Distributed Tracing Platform
bolt
cockroach - CockroachDB - the open source, cloud-native distributed SQL database.
bbolt - An embedded key/value database for Go.
TinyGo - Go compiler for small places. Microcontrollers, WebAssembly (WASM/WASI), and command-line tools. Based on LLVM.
nutsdb - A simple, fast, embeddable, persistent key/value store written in pure Go. It supports fully serializable transactions and many data structures such as list, set, sorted set.
