LibSQL is an open source, open contribution fork of SQLite
Remember the fork of GIMP because people were offended by the name?
-
Gimp development release 2.99.12 includes initial CMYK support
> What if the name of the software was CripplePhoto
Argumentum ad absurdum.
> I mean, no professional uses Gimp for photo editing
Perhaps because the lack of CMYK, the limited architecture for plugin, or the outdated UI have more to do than the name?
If the name was the real bottleneck for adoption, you can be sure that you'd see someone creating a fork with different branding and being widely successful. Oh, wait. It has been tried already! [0]

GIMP PyDev
I’ve found that technical types often don’t care about issues like this... but the name GIMP is imo an abelist slur and I really wish they would change it. Sadly the devs don’t seem to care, but there is a fork called Glimpse that aims to remedy this. If any of y’all care about removing discriminatory language from open source projects, please promote Glimpse!

What are some of your favorite Linux apps that you use
This one might be controversial, but Winapps for Linux, app that lets run apps from within a Windows KVM as if it were native on your Linux system (https://github.com/Fmstrat/winapps)
-
Does Visual Studio 2022 exist on Arch Linux?
Yes but you have to run visual studios in a windows virtual machine qemu/kvm/virtmanager Then pass virtual studio window to your desktop so it runs like it is native https://github.com/Fmstrat/winapps optional Then use winapps to make a desktop and application launcher menu entry/icon

I hate Windows but
Have you considered running https://github.com/Fmstrat/winapps to integrate Outlook, Adobe, etc. right into gnome?
Personally, I use Windows 11 VM for MS office and other proprietary apps. Then I use Winapps to launch the apps without fiiring the VM. This way you can run Adobe photoshop and almost anything.
- Just switched to Pop!_OS. Any suggestions?
-
I thinking move for Pop_os, but...
A slightly more complex but definitely worthy solution I have discovered lately is winapps. It has a very detailer installation guide to enable RDP via Windows VM, and so far it has worked flawlessly with Adobe Acrobat, Office, and Affinity apps.

Just switched to linux yesterday, loving it!!!!
And there is always winapps for everything else https://github.com/Fmstrat/winapps

I really like Linux, but I also really dislike LibreOffice
I talked about this in a post on a Linux subreddit. My solution was to install a Windows 11 VM and Install MS office. I use WinApps to run the apps without manually firing the VM.
What are some alternatives?
