2009scape released on Flathub!
It did not. A group of volunteers decided to write a server that would emulate the 2009 era of RuneScape and have open sourced the client and server. They also host a live version of the server for anyone to check out.

How to run 2009Scape Server
Hi all, I found this server earlier https://gitlab.com/2009scape/2009scape and was able to get it to build. However, I haven't been able to figure out how to actually run my changes. I found two different jar files created during the build but the Java launcher doesn't launch the client or anything. It looks like my server is running fine in the terminal.

Any RS3-like versions with Singleplayer options like 2009scape?
The second method is the one I ended up doing, which was manually running the live-server github https://gitlab.com/2009scape/2009scape version through localhost with a personal MySQL database for any of the important stuff. I can run that on Windows by following the instructions there, and it works as a single player client. It does, however, require more effort than simply clicking launch and hitting the 1 key to start the game like the first method.

2009scape – Runescape in 2009
It seems the UI Scale option doesn't work on Mac? I tried this repo [0] but it wasn't launching correctly. Also HD mode doesn't work on Mac.
I then installed Ubuntu (arm server, then installed desktop) via UTM and installed 2009scape via flatpack and was able to scale the UI up but still no HD mode. Scaling is better than nothing even if I have to run a VM but I wish I could run HD. I can't find much info about this online unfortunately other than the FAQ saying you need java 11 (the flatpack installed that) and that it doesn't work on Mac.
